The Tech Transfer and Incubation Lead will support the management of a portfolio of strategic EU-funded projects. This includes thecoordination of consortium activities, financial and technical reporting, and ensuring timely delivery of all milestones and deliverables in compliance with grant requirements. The role involves acting as a key point of contact for funding agencies and consortium partners, and liaising with internal departments to ensure operational, financial, and legal compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Support the Higher Education Initiative (HEI), an EIT flagship cross-KIC programme connecting universities, research institutions, and innovation ecosystems across Europe. The role involves managing the curation, quality assurance, and publication of project results including success stories, best practices, and additional project outputs, contributing to a vibrant and growing community of higher education innovators. The Candidate will play an active role in the day-to-day management of a dynamic and multi-stakeholder community. Beyond HEI, the Candidate will assist the Project Officer in building 28DIGITAL's community of Technology Transfer Offices, contributing to the identification of collaboration opportunities and the development of long-term partnerships between research institutions and the broader innovation ecosystem.

• Coordinate with 15+ European university partners to manage programme delivery, scheduling, and academic alignment.
• Manage student-facing processes including admissions support, onboarding, mobility coordination, and graduation tracking.

• Overall responsibility for the organization, planning and managing 28DIGITAL participation in assigned projects liaising with the Ecosystem/Education/Innovation/Investment Leaders responsible for 28DIGITAL strategy execution in the relevant area.

Main Responsibilities

• Closing fundraising deals for our portfolio startups and scaleups with target investors in your region to meet their investment targets;
• Building tailored investor lists and driving the fundraising process to get firm commitments on term sheets, funding amounts and deal closure timeline;
• Review and prepare fundraising assets for the startups and scaleups (business plans, teasers, pitch decks) and fine-tune their financing needs (amount, timing, use of proceeds, valuation);
• Organize matchmaking opportunities between the startups and scaleups, and target VC funds, Corporate Venture funds, family offices, national funding agencies, European institutional stakeholders (such as EIC and EIF and EIB);
• Execute investor engagement activities in your region, to increase visibility & recognition of 28DIGITAL Growth Services as a credible source of top-quality deal flow;
• Drive the high-level delivery of Speed Master editions in collaboration with the Head of Acceleration and Corporate Innovation;
• Support the Acceleration Team with (1) scouting of startup and scaleup candidates for the Co-Creation Accelerator, (1) delivery of the 28DIGITAL Founder’s Club and (3) fundraising for the equity portfolio startups and scaleups;
• Support in the development of a strong pipeline for all GS programs;
• Support the Growth Services team contribution to the preparation and delivery of EU/National proposals.

This position reports to the Growth Services Team Lead.
 

Profile required

Qualifications and Experience

• An MSc in STEM is a requirement. An MBA is a merit;
• 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in scaleup scouting, technology selling, closing deals, venture capital fundraising in scaleup accelerators or VCs in the technology sector;
• Strong network within the European digital technology industry and the European investor community (Angel/Seed investors, Venture Capital firms, and Corporate Venture Funds) involved in digital technology startups;
• Outstanding analytical skills and experience with financial modeling and business plan creation;
• Strong presentation and public appearance skills in English (verbal, written) and ability to convey simple and effective value propositions and messages;
• Hands-on approach with an entrepreneurial mindset focused on delivering results;
• Drive to make a difference and be part of a team that is leading impact in innovation ecosystems in Europe.

Languages: Mastery of English with superior verbal, presentation and written communication skills is a must. Professional working knowledge of Finnish and/or Swedish is a plus.
