DualRise is a 7-week hybrid pre-incubation programme supporting researchers in transforming dual-use technologies into commercial opportunities. Through workshops, mentoring and industry engagement, participants develop entrepreneurial skills, explore IP valorisation pathways and connect with corporates and investors. Aligned with the SPIN: Rise initiative, the programme strengthens academia–industry collaboration and unlocks the commercial potential of research.
Thematic focus
Dual-Use Technologies
Target audience
Researchers developing low-TRL dual-use technologies (from universities, research centres and TTOs).
How the programme works
DualRise will run for a total of 7 weeks, with weekly two-hour workshops on Entrepreneurship, Market Analysis, Buyer Persona & Value Proposition, Mission Model Canvas, Dual-use Go-to-Market, and Investor-ready Pitching. Aer each session, 20 researchers will work in five curated groups to foster synergy and collaborative value creation. Each participant will also receive tailored 1 hour mentoring per week from our internal team or from external industry mentors within our 200+ pool, including 60 defence-focused experts. The final bootcamp will take place at OGR Tech, enabling direct interaction with companies and investors. Researchers will receive IP valorisation training, one-to-one advisory, and will present their projects to an audience of over 100 industrial stakeholders and investors from our Italian ecosystem.
