A 16 July event looks at how policymakers and innovation stakeholders can use experimentation and scaling to help drive innovation ecosystems.
UPCOMING EVENT: Mapping innovation ecosystems for clean tech and deep tech
Mark your calendar for 16 July 9:30 – 11:00 CET and join us for an online event exploring how policymakers and innovation stakeholders can better support innovation through experimentation and scaling.
The event is being co-hosted by FINEST SCALEUP and the FINEX, two Horizon Europe funded projects dedicated to strengthening innovation ecosystems and improving collaboration across such under-connected areas as the Baltic Sea Region, as well as Cyprus and Bulgaria.
While FINEX will discuss using experimentation infrastructure to accelerate the uptake of clean tech solutions, FINEST SCALEUP will focus on how to support startups as they look to scale, attract investments and access global markets.
There will also be a panel discussion on ecosystem connectivity across the innovation journey with speakers from 28DIGITAL, TalTech FinEst Centre for Smart Cities, HEC Paris and the Lithuanian Innovation Centre.
Deep tech by the numbers
What’s the difference between a startup and a scaleup? According to the Baltics Deep Tech Report 2023, startups progress into scaleups when they grow beyond 50 employees.
Best practices in deep tech commercialisation
Best Practice No. 6: Building networks
For deep tech startups, international networks open the door to global markets, international capital and the exchange of knowledge and technology. They are the key to entering foreign markets more rapidly, gaining a deeper understanding of local needs and regulations, and attracting investors from around the world. International networks also help startups assemble global teams, which is crucial in a sector that demands specialised expertise.
How does one start building such a network?
A good place to start is the FINEST SCALEUP project.
Together with our partners, we regularly host events across the Baltic Sea Region. Not only do these events facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience, they are also an opportunity to network, establish partnerships and even secure investment capital.
