Application and eligibility
What is the application process of the programme?
Interested startups must submit an application outlining their business model, goals, and eligibility. After the application, the Mentor Me team will schedule an interview with eligible teams.
What are the requirements to join the programme?
Eligibility criteria are:
- Already established company.
- Company must be established in an EU-, or Horizon associated country (see https://ec.europa.eu/info/funding-tenders/opportunities/docs/2021-2027/common/guidance/list-3rd-country-participation_horizon-euratom_en.pdf)
- Established as a company later than 1 January 2023.
- Have a prototype (TRL 3-4).
- Ready to raise their late angel and pre-seed round.
Is there a fee for the programme?
Startups have two options to join:
- Pay the €33.000 participation fee, or;
- Offer 3% of equity to 28DIGITAL.
When is the application deadline?
The deadline for each batch is specified on the programme webpage.
Is there a limit to the number of startups accepted?
Each batch has a maximum of 8 available seats, which are allocated based on application strength.
Do I need a team to apply, or can solo founders join?
Both solo founders and teams are eligible, though teams may have an advantage in certain aspects.
Are specific industries prioritized in the selection process?
We prioritize startups within the digital and deep tech sectors, but all innovative fields are welcome.
How long will it take to hear back after applying?
Applicants will receive a response within a few weeks of the application deadline.
Programme details and structure
What is the duration of the programme?
The programme lasts for 4+2 months.
How often will I meet with my mentor?
Mentees and mentors meet at least once a month, for one hour. Scheduling the session is the resonsibility of the mentee. At least one call per key topic (team and team dynamics, product-market fit, fundraising, business development) is highly recommended.
Are there different types of mentorship available?
Yes, mentorship covers various areas, including HR, product-market fit, investor relations, and marketing.
What happens at the end of the programme?
Participants receive certification and can continue networking with mentors and peers.
Is the programme format online or in-person?
The programme is conducted online.
How many sessions are there each month?
Each module includes one scheduled session per month, along with optional sessions via token usage.
Are there networking opportunities with other startups?
Yes, we host networking events to facilitate collaboration among programme participants.
Does the programme include funding?
MentorMe is not a funding instrument. However, participation can strengthen eligibility for other support instruments and help founders prepare for partner or investor conversations.
Mentorship and resources
How many mentoring hours do I receive?
Each team gets one hour of mentoring per month per topic.
Can I change my mentor during the programme?
Yes, participants may request a mentor change if necessary.
Do mentors offer feedback after each session?
Yes, mentors will provide actionable feedback to help startups improve continuously.
What topics will mentors cover in the sessions?
Mentorship covers HR, product-market fit, investor relations, and marketing.
What is the role of mentors in the programme?
Mentors provide guidance, feedback, and insights to support startups’ growth journeys.
