About DiGi-SEII
Digital Scaling for Social Enterprises: Empowering Impact and Innovation (DiGi-SEII) is a three-year initiative launched on 2 September 2024. Co-funded by the EU under the SMP-COSME 2023-SEED programme, the project equips social enterprises (SEs) and their support organisations (SESOs) with the digital tools and skills they need to scale their activities and strengthen their impact.
Why Digitalization for Social Enterprises?
Digital transformation is reshaping how organizations operate, innovate, and grow. For social enterprises, digital tools are more than a technical upgrade—they are a lever for scaling operations, building resilience, and accessing new opportunities. Yet many social enterprises (SEs) and their support organizations (SESOs) face barriers such as limited digital skills, lack of infrastructure, and scarce resources. The DiGi-SEII project is designed to address these challenges and enable SEs to thrive in the digital age.

Our Role
EIT Digital plays a key role in DIGI SEII. As a consortium partner, we lead the design and delivery of complementary services—including mentoring, coaching, peer exchanges, and study visits—that help social enterprises and their support organizations put digital skills into practice. We also develop practical tools such as AI-powered assessments, digital badges, and personalised learning pathways, ensuring that training is tailored, effective, and scalable. By building this capacity, EIT Digital empowers SESOs to continue guiding social enterprises in their digital transformation long after the project ends, strengthening resilience and innovation across Europe’s social economy.
Our Target Reach and KPIs
The DiGi-SEII project is ambitions in its scope. Over the course of the project, we aim to:
- Deliver 45 local, national, or regional capacity-building activities.
- Train 260 individuals from social enterprises and SESOs.
- Provide direct financial support to 260 social enterprises.
- Facilitate 144 coaching, mentoring, and advisory sessions for both SEs and SESOs.
- Organise 12 transnational training activities during the project.
- Engage 50 social enterprises in a hackathon designed to foster digital innovation.
In addition to these targets, we aim to achieve a 20% increase in participants’ understanding of key training topics and expect to see a 3% annual increase in the number of social enterprises reporting investments in digital tools to scale their operations.
